This is the first pair of binoculars I've owned. Did a fair amount of research on different brands/models. Finally settled on these (8x42). Glad I did. I've only used these binoculars for bird watching a few times so far, but I can tell these are well-made with quality components: the way the binoculars feel in your hand, the materials, the way the focus knob feels when you rotate it...even the strap and carrying case are well-made. They even come in a nice box with well-written instructions. The optics are clear and bright. I'm no optics expert (and again, these are the first binos I've bought), but I doubt you'd be able to find lenses / optics any better than these at this price range. (I'd put these way up near the top of the list in the 'Best bang for your buck' category.) If you are looking for a good pair of binoculars for around $100, look no further!!

I don't have a lot to compare this to as my first and only set of binoculars were cheap and old. The field of view seems to be as wide as specs say they are. Image is bright and wide...easy to keep your target in view. Focus knob is smooth and easy to reach. The eye cups twist in and out which is very nice. Shipping was on time and quick.

The optics are clear and the weight is light enough that they don't feel like a ball and chain around my neck. Great for watching birds and spotting wildlife at a distance. The quality is obvious, and they are comfortable in my hands.

Very nice binoculars! I have taken these to a visit to the zoo close up viewing of animals. They are not too heavy and I can see all the details! I'm impressed with the quality. These binoculars can be focused quite sharply, have a well-constructed and rugged body, and have a wonderful field of view. I like the compact size and light weight enough to remain very convenient. Also these are adjustable for with or without glasses, a very nice feature.
